Cups that relate: Part 2! Final Project
For the final cup project I wanted a more classic mug look. I also wanted to embody the idea of clay and working with your hands, so I let it have some lumps and bumps. I also imprinted my finger shapes into the handle to make it a more personalized mug for me!
Of course, I dipped my cutesy lumpy, bumpy mug into the clear glaze to finalize its look.

Since I learned from the eye mug that more detailed designs should be painted rather than carved thats what I did! I wanted a strawberry mug to match my fruit colander. So i painted the strawberry designs. I did not have a base color, since we ran out of the nice colors in the studio.
And here is the final result after glazing & firing!

For my final mug, just as the others i started with a slab and shaped it into cup form. Due to my specific taste in cups (very specific) and hate for mugs because of how much room handles take up in a cabinet, I went without one.
Once again I went for the clear glaze to achieve that finished and shinning look.

From experience with my other glazing projects I decided that the black glaze was my favorite. I went for a simple black background with white stars. I really like this specific look of stars as i did similar ones for my stamps. Since I didn't use my stars stamps I wanted to at least feature them in this cup design!
And here is the final look!! I love it's sleek black and simple appearance. Dazzling if I may say.
